Parking Decals That Know Which Car They Belong To

A hang tag or a sticker says a car may park here, and nothing stops it moving to another car, being photocopied, or staying on a windshield after the resident moves out. Park Entra decals are numbered, tied to one car each, and checked against that car's plate in the lot. A decal on the wrong car, a void decal or a copy is caught in seconds.

The problem

A Tag Says a Car May Park, Not Which Car

Most permit programs hand out tags and hope. A tag can be lent to a friend, moved to a second car, photocopied, or left on the windshield of a car that was sold. With no record of which car a tag belongs to, an enforcer standing in the lot has nothing to check it against.

  • The Permit List Lives in a Spreadsheet

Somebody in the office keeps a tab of permit numbers next to unit numbers. It goes stale the first time a resident moves out mid-year. When an enforcer radios in a number, the answer is a guess or a callback the next morning.

  • Copies and Moved Tags Go Unnoticed

A photocopied hang tag looks fine on a dashboard at night. So does a tag that moved from one car to another. With no record of the car it belongs to, there is nothing to catch either one.

  • Turnover Breaks the Whole Program

Residents move out with tags still on the windshield. Replacements go out for lost tags with no way to cancel the original. Every year, the tags in circulation drift further from the ones you meant to hand out.

  • No Way to Verify in the Field

An enforcer in the lot has a number and nothing to check it against. The tag either gets trusted or the car gets a warning it may not deserve. Both outcomes end up as complaints.

How Park Entra helps

One Decal, One Car, Checked in Seconds

Park Entra prints numbered static cling decals for your property and ships them to your office. The office gives each home its decals and puts each one on a registered car. Enforcers type the decal's number on their phone, or scan its QR code with the camera, and see the plate of the car it belongs to in large type. If the plate does not match, one tap records a Decal on Wrong Car violation and tells the office.

  • Tied to One Car

Each decal goes on one registered car, and each car carries one decal at most. A decal checked on any other car shows up as being on the wrong car.

  • Check by Number or QR Code

Enforcers type the digits on a number pad, or point the phone camera at the decal's QR code. Either way they see the car it belongs to, its home and any open violations.

  • Void Means Void

A decal reported lost, damaged or not handed back is voided for good. If it turns up on a windshield later, it reads as void, never as valid.

  • Limits That Follow Your Vehicle Rules

A home never gets more decals than cars it can register, and each extra vehicle it pays for adds one. You can set a lower number for every home.

  • Move-Outs Without Loose Ends

Move Out asks which of a home's decals were handed back. Those go back in stock for the next resident, and the rest are voided on the spot.

  • Every Change Is on Record

Each decal keeps its own history: when it arrived, which home and car it went to, and who moved it and when. When a board asks which car a decal was on, there is an answer.

How it works

From the Box to the Windshield

  1. 01

    Receive Your Decals

Park Entra prints your property's decals and ships them to your office. Mark the box received, and the decals are ready to give out.

  2. 02

    Give Each Home Its Decals

Type a decal's number, pick the home and the car it goes on. A home never gets more decals than its limit allows.

  3. 03

    Enforcers Check From the Lot

Type the number or scan the QR code. The screen shows the plate the decal belongs to, so a decal on the wrong car is caught at a glance.

  4. 04

    Replace and Retire Cleanly

Void a lost decal and give the home a new one in one step. Decals handed back at move-out go back in stock.

What changes

What a Loose Permit Program Costs

Reprinting a whole run of tags because the numbering can no longer be trusted is a recurring cost. The larger cost is the enforcement you cannot do in the meantime, because a community that cannot verify a tag stops challenging them, which is the same as having no permit program at all.

One decal, one car

The decal stays on the glass. The record behind it says exactly which car it belongs to.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

For anything not covered here, contact our support team or our sales team.

Can we keep using our own hang tags or stickers?

Not inside Park Entra. Park Entra checks its own numbered decals, each tied to one car, and every car's plate. Many properties run on plates alone. Decals are for properties that want something on the windshield as well.

What is printed on a decal?

The Park Entra name, a circled R for a resident's car, a QR code and the decal's number, like 4821 KQXM. Nothing on it says which property or home it belongs to.

Where does the decal go?

It is a 2 x 2 inch static cling decal that goes on the inside of the windshield, in the lower corner on the driver's side, and reads from outside. It holds without glue, so it can move to the home's next car.

What happens when a resident loses a decal?

The office voids it and gives the home a new one in one step. The lost decal reads as void from then on, so if it turns up on a windshield the enforcer sees its real state instead of a valid result.

What does an enforcer see when they check a decal?

Whether it is valid, void, not on a car, or not a Park Entra decal at all. For a valid decal, the plate, make, model and color of the car it belongs to, its home, and any open violations.

What if someone moves a decal to another car?

The check shows the plate of the car the decal belongs to. If the plate in front of the enforcer is different, they record a Decal on Wrong Car violation in one tap, and the office is told.

Do we still need plate registration if we use decals?

Yes, and that is the point. Every decal is tied to a registered car, so the decal and the plate check each other.

Put Your Permit Program on the Record

Give each home numbered decals tied to its cars, and give your enforcers a way to check them that a photocopier cannot fool.
